So I wanna lose 15 pounds…I wanna go from 130 to 115 BUT this is proving to be very hard. Some sights tell me “cut out carbs”, others tell me “cut out calories”, “excersise like this” and ive become confused…so confused that i have basically cheated through out my entire diet…i dont want muscles..i have alot of body fat I want to burn. WHAT TO DO??

The last 15 pounds are the hardest 15 to lose. These 15 represent the body’s reserve, a genetic remnant from the time our ancestors had to face famines.

Alright. I’m 5″7 200 lbs and 18 years old.
My goal: To lose body fat and keep my muscles! (Weight is not so important, but appearance is the most important)
I go to the gym every week days (5 days a week, about 1 hr and 30+ minutes each time). Been 3 weeks straight so far. I don’t there’s any results yet, or Am I doing something wrong?

I know there are numerous health benefits achieved by drinking more water. I’m curious though about how drinking lots of water effects results when trying to lose weight. Besides the obvious thing of “If you’re drinking water it will make you feel more full” and “If you’re drinking water, you’re not drinking other things with calories”. Is there anything scientific about the more water you drink the more weight you’ll lose? Does drinking more water help you burn fat in any way in addition to your work out/sensible diet plan?

There is some conflicting ideas floating around. We know that in order to lose fat, we need to use up more calories than we eat. On the other hand, the calories intake cannot be too low, otherwise our body will lower the metabolism and it will backfire. So the best way to lose weight seems to be having a calorie deficit of no more than 500 calories a day…
