I always hear my mom saying “I’ve gotta work off those calories i just ate”…etc.. On holidays after we eat, my whole family (grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins..EVERYONE)..goes for a long walk. They always say “lets go burn off those calories now”..
My impression of this term is that they’re burning off the calories from the food they JUST ATE before the calories have time to become fat etc…
Is that whats going on? Is there such thing as “burning off what we just ate”?
