Men and women are not built the same way. There is something different in our bodies due to the way hormones change the balance between muscle and fat and shape the size of our bones to respond to different needs later on. In men, the testosterone hormone determines the size of bones, causes hair growth and deepens the voice. It also regulates the size of the muscle mass, which it turn regulates the metabolism. Along with a good lean high protein diet, fiber will make a significant difference in your weight loss efforts. Doctors recommend we get between 25-30 grams per day of fiber. Unfortunately, most of us don’t even get half that much.
However, if you are obese you can go as high as 60 grams per day or more. I would advise you to increase your fiber intake slowly. A sudden increase in Fiber can cause bloating, gastrointestinal discomfort and gas. Also, remember to drink plenty of water. This will help you digest the fiber and prevent stomach upset.

Some women can eat whatever they want without gaining a gram. This article is not for them. The rest of us only have to look at a cheeseburger to feel our jeans tighten.
The difference is that some of us have high metabolic rates – the speed at which kilojoules consumed are burnt off – and some don’t. The thinking used to be that this was just tough luck but increasingly research is discovering ways in which we can make our metabolism work faster.
