Question by : Burning fat question?
I weigh about 162-163 right now and I’m trying to get a more toned body by riding a bike and running when I can, and also lifting weight.
My question to you is, if I don’t really want to lose weight, but I want to burn the belly fat that I have, is that possible with eating enough calories to gain muscle?
Question by confizzled_boy: High Intensity Vs. Low Intensity (Burning Fat)?
Would it be better for me to do a high intensity exercise over a low intensity exercise for burning the most fat weight that I can?
For about a week and a half now, I’ve been doing this somewhat high intensity workout that I found on the internet.
It something like this, I changed the workout a bit to fit my situation:
Jog in place, 45-degree high knees (20 seconds)
Sprint in place, 45-degree high knees (10 seconds)
Question by Max-a-million!: Burning Fat? I don’t see how the process works?
When you exercise, your body uses glycogen for energy. However, then how do people actually burn “excess fat”? If your body runs out of glycogen, does it then burns fat?
For example.. when people run in the mornings to lose fat, your body would have no glycogen.. so would the body use excess fat for energy? Or would it use and wear down muscle? Then if you only use muscle, then running in the morning to lose weight would be pointless..

What truly happens inside your body when you “burn fat”? What exactly happens to the fat cell and how do you really “shrink” in size? I’m not being dumb here, I am really wondering.
