I’m really skinny but i eat a lot of junk?
Question by : I’m really skinny but i eat a lot of junk?
Ok, I’m 15 almost 16 and I’m 5’6″ and i weigh 106lbs. I have a high metabolism and I have to eat like every two hours or so or i get dizzy because i burn off the food i eat so fast. I guess overall i don’t eat that bad, because i eat fruits and vegetable and homecooked meals every day, but considering the number of times i eat a day I find myself snacking on and craving lots of snacks such as: chips, yodels, coffee cakes, cookies, icecream, cake….. But i refuse to eat fast food and I don’t eat ALL these snacks everyday and i always eat the “lower fat” versions of the snacks. But i guess I do eat at least 2 “desserts” every day which sounds bad. I don’t gain any weight and I’m so slim i still fit in kids jeans. I’m worried if this is really bad for me or not becuase i don’t gain any weight?
Is it true that you can ‘binge eat’ ONCE a week to assist in weight loss when on a diet?
Question by Emizoo: Is it true that you can ‘binge eat’ ONCE a week to assist in weight loss when on a diet?
i read that you can eat practically whatever you want once a week when your on a low carb/ low calorie diet:
“Paradoxically, dramatically spiking caloric intake in this way once per week increases fat loss by ensuring that your metabolic rate (thyroid function, etc.) doesn’t downregulate from extended caloric restriction.” (http://www.fourhourworkweek.com/blog/2007/04/06/how-to-lose-20-lbs-of-fat-in-30-days-without-doing-any-exercise/)

Why did I not lose weight?
Question by ladylove: Why did I not lose weight?
I climbed a 14,000ft mountain this weekend – 3 days of uphill hiking and eating only enough food to fit in one larger sized zip lock bag. I calculated I probably burned 4000 calories a day hiking uphill with a 40lb pack for 9 hours a day.
I came home and the scale didn’t budge. What gives? I think the “muscle ways more than fat” excuse is a little much in this situation.

What’s better when working our, being in the cardio zone or the fat burning zone?
Question by hhuujj: What’s better when working our, being in the cardio zone or the fat burning zone?
I am working to get in better shape and I don’t want to have a lot of bulk, just get leaner and lose some of that thigh and butt fat. I only have enough time for one hour of exercise maybe five times a week, and i want the most efficient workout. So is it better for me to get my heart rate as high as possible (as long as it is safe, of course), or should I keep it on the lower side, which the machines at the gym label “fat burning”? Is it true that walking fast uphill makes you lose fat, while running builds muscle? Is it better to be on the elliptical for a long time than it is to run on the treadmill for a shorter time?
