Question by FreeCheese: Why are people so sure of themselves when it comes to nutrition? Why are some people snobs about it?
I hate how when someone asks about dieting, suddenly everyone’s a guru. I mean, its really nice if people give advice or state something in a way that makes it clear that its an opinion, but it drives me bonkers when people act like they know that they’re way is the only way. People have this attitude. “I KNOW that Atkins is unhealthy.” “I KNOW that being vegan is the only way to lose weight.” I KNOW that carbs are bad.” But most often, “There’s no way you’ll be successful using….” Different methods work for different people. People get in these huge diet debates, but the fact is, they’re pointless. As long as everyone has a different body and different brain, there are multiple answers and solutions. The only thing someone should say that they’re confident in, is proven science. Not studies or surveys, not personal experience, but scientific facts. Such as, “If you consumer more calories than you burn, some will be stored as fat.” And, “Carrots contain vitamin C.”
Added details: I’m not annoyed with anyone for giving out helpful advice, but I hate when people go “You are such an idiot!” or “That popular diet is moronic!”

i lift 3 – 4 times a week … i have only a little bit of fat on the bottom of my stomach i am 6 foot 2 … 180 pounds … my chest is not so defined nor are my arms …. i want to bulk up a little bit more maybe up to around 190 195 … but wile doing so i also want to get cut and i know that you should do less weight more reps … now in doing so should i also incorporate a little resistance ? cause i know you cant “Zone Burn Fat” so since all the fat on my body is located right below my belly button im assuming that is th only place ill loose fat but im curious as to How long should i work out …. how many reps how many sets … as of right now my bench max is 230 … it use to be 285 so give me an estimated amount of time before ill see the results and how long before you think ab’s will be visible cause the top abs are already visible … its just as i said the bottom of the stomach and its kinda awkward …. thank you =)
also should i take creatine ? or anything to make my muscles look better during the process… cause right now im trying to get ripped pretty quick before summer…. i mean it sounds outrageous seeing as though summer is only a month and a week away … but i workout intense and i can go on a strict diet… salad and chicken if necessary … just tell me how and what to do what to use …. if anything …. what to eat what to drink … cause right now im currently taking the GNC diet powder … and on occasion i take Nano Vapor but i find it to give me a headache … so i might just give it away or something …. please tell me what you recommend

I just eat a high protein chocolate bar and has 210 calories and 117 calories from fat. that took me 20 seconds to eat….and I am still hungry….I am trying to keep my food calories under 1000 a day but whatever u eat these days has a lot of calories. the reason of this is cause when I go to the gym I burn 1100 calories/day but I have not lost weight …now what?

I know my body burns about 3000 calories without any exercise so my caloric intake always needs to be above that number because if it isn’t I won’t lose weight, my body will go into starvation mode and keep everything I eat as fat. I also know that in order to lose weight I will need to expend/exercise more calories than I take in. What is my optimum caloric intake (or how can I calculate it) for a day and optimum expenditure to lose weight as fast as these people like on “I used to be fat” or “Heavy”?

Question by : Has anyone lost weight just from eating healthier?
I know all about the “Burn 3500 calories” in order to lose 1lb of fat. I also am fully aware of the Metabolic Rate. I want to know if I were to just eat 500 calories less than my BMR would I honestly lose 1lb a week…. becasue that is what this BMR vs Calorie intake and burning 3500 calories for one pound is suggesting… Has anyone just ate 500 calories less than their BMR and lost weight?
I dont want any answers saying you have to excersize because that is not the point of my question.
